This study focuses on issues of planning and development of the Malaysia – Thailand border areas, which take into account economic potentials of border cities and towns. It also looks into strategies for more effective and efficient management of security controls and disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM). Studies on DRRM include matters relating to trans boundary disaster risk and management, disaster risk financing, international cooperation and management mechanisms, as well as issues on social wellbeing and humanitarian action.
