Medical product manufacturing has enormous growth potential. Opportunities in the sector come from the growing demand for healthcare that is driven by the ongoing pandemic, an aging population, and increased living standard that demand for good and better health. The demand for quality healthcare continues to rise in Malaysia with increasing affluence and rising consumer awareness.
Healthcare remains a priority of the Malaysian Government, which the medical devices industry is one of the priority sectors under the Healthcare National Key Economic Area (NKEA), The industry has also been earmarked as one of the highly potential growth sectors under the Twelfth Malaysia Plan. This proposal was prepared to offer strategic thinking and action plans on how Malaysia, and the State of Perlis to become a major production hub for medical devices and services.
